School planning committee seeking input from public MILLSTONE — The Strategic Planning Committee of the Millstone Township School District is inviting interested residents of the township to a "Community Kick-Off Event" on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Millstone Elementary school cafetorium. This meeting will include an overview of the challenges being faced by the district, as well as the planning process being employed. It also provides the community with an opportunity to contribute valuable input on the future direction of the district. Participants will be chosen to attend a two-day workshop scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Jan. 11 and 12, where the district’s strategic plan will be developed. Under the guidance of Francine Case, a planning facilitator from the New Jersey School Boards Association, teachers, administrators, and other interested residents will work together to develop goals and objectives to move the district forward to meet the challenges of the coming years. Superintendent of Schools Dr. William Setaro, stated, "We must continue to improve student performance in order to meet and surpass state standards. We must also provide space for our growing enrollment as well as provide facilities that are appropriate for the programs today and in the future. To this end we need the community’s help." — Ruth Calia Stives |
