Courses on safety,writing, acting offered Millstone Community Education is offering a class for aspiring writers, ages 12-14, July 1-3 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The class will offer instruction on how to develop ideas, or how to polish that special poem or story that’s already been in progress for some time. All work will be submitted for publication to various magazines at the end of the session. Mrs. Maki, language arts Teacher of the Year, will be the facilitator. The fee is $60. A week-long, half-day theater camp will be offered July 15-19 for ages 10-14. Participants will learn script memorization, basic acting techniques, and gain stage presence as they prepare a short Shakespearean production for presentation at the end of the week. Nancy Osterberg is the instructor. The fee is $75. "CPR for Friends and Family" will teach participants the basics of CPR and the Heimlich maneuver, as well as the warning signs of heart attack and choking. The one-session class will be held from 1-3 p.m. July 1. The fee is $13. All classes will be held at the Millstone Middle School.
