CentraState offers community wellness programs CentraState Healthcare System’s Health Awareness Center will offer the following programs to the community; preregistration is required for all events. "Legs for Life," a screening for peripheral vascular disease (PVD), will be held Sept. 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at CentraState Medical Center, 901 W. Main St., in the fifth-floor auditorium. There is no fee, but an appointment is required; call (732) 294-2947. "Prostate Cancer: Detection, Treatment and Prevention," will be presented at 8 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Health Awareness Center, Gibson Place. There is no fee. "Heart Disease 2002: Treatment and Prevention," will be held Sept. 10 from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Health Awareness Center, Gibson Place. No fee. A free orientation meeting for "Smart Weigh 2002," a weight-loss and strength-training program, will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 23 or 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Health Awareness Center, Gibson Place. CentraState also offers several health and fitness programs for individuals and families, CPR and first-aid training, and fitness programs for mind and body. CentraState’s Freehold Raceway Mall location also offers programs, including several for children.
