Human Rights Day

concert slated Dec. 10

The student chapter of Amnesty International at Brookdale Community College will commemorate International Human Rights Day with a "Human Rights Concert" Dec. 10 from 11:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The program will be held at the student life center at Brookdale, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown.

Opening remarks will be by Colleen Kelly, of September 11 Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, New York. The group seeks peaceful responses to terrorism.

Also speaking will be Vietnam veteran David Cline, national president of Veterans for Peace, an educational and humanitarian organization.

Music such as rock, punk, folk and other styles will be performed by local musicians, beginning at 12:30 p.m., followed by poetry readings from members of the Brookdale English Club.

The event is free, but voluntary donations are suggested to benefit human rights groups. For more information, call (732) 224-2623.

Spring term information sessions at Brookdale

Brookdale Community College will hold information sessions for prospective spring term students Dec. 10, 16 and 18, and Jan. 7, 8 and 13. All sessions will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the administrative center lobby at Brookdale, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown.

All sessions are appropriate for full- or part-time as well as visiting students. Spring classes begin Jan. 22.
