Teen says skate ban a mistake

Outlawing skateboarding, roller-skating, and scooters from the Millstone-Roosevelt Little League Fields is a mistake.

Kids go to the fields to have fun and meet with their friends. The Little League field is one of the only places that kids can go to skate. There are not many sidewalks in town, making the street and driveways both dangerous places for kids to practice.

When kids finally find a local, safe, and fun place to skate, the township bans the new location.

Millstone Township has a park, which has tennis and basketball courts, yet no place for kids to roller blade, skate, or ride their scooters. Kids are in dire need of a place to enjoy themselves in a safe environment, such as a skate park or roller rink.

If Millstone Township established a skate park or roller rink, the township would not have to worry about problems at the Little League fields or problems at the parks.
