Fund-raiser for family exceeds expectations

On Sunday, Oct. 19, more than 300 friends and neighbors gathered at the Clarksburg Inn for a benefit to support Linda Nehil and her family. The turnout and the amount that was raised was more than we could have ever anticipated. In all, more than 700 individuals and businesses from nine states contributed to this success.

I have lived in Millstone for almost 24 years and I have never been more proud or have ever felt as fortunate. Our neighbors and businesses from Millstone and Allentown have embraced the Nehil family with their love and support.

I cannot begin to thank all of you who made that day such a success. I would especially like to thank Tommy, Joe, Roger and Alan of the Clarksburg Inn. Words cannot express how grateful I am for all that you contributed. You donated everything and continued to be generous throughout the auction. I would also like to thank Beth Noonan, who not only prepared a delicious meal for over 300 people, but had all the food donated as well.

We are so blessed to live in this community. I cannot begin to tell you how many phone calls I received from those of you who may not have necessarily known Linda or her family, but you were so moved by her story that you just wanted to contribute in some way. We can only hope that one day Linda will be able to thank you herself.

Please continue to keep Linda, Jim, Derek and Lauren in your prayers, and God bless you all.
