Waltrese “Tree” Rondell Hines

Mrs. Hines, 31, of Lakewood, died March 22 at Paul Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Freehold, she was a lifelong resident of Lakewood. A graduate of the Lakewood public school system, she was an ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) student who participated in cheerleading and other extracurricular activities. She worked as a telemarketer for Nextel, Lakewood. Mrs. Hines was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Marion Robinson Major, and her paternal grandparents, Beatrice and Lonnie Hines. Surviving are two daughters and a son, Aniya Shardei, Alliyah Simone and Asim Sadiq, all at home; her parents, Ernestine and Walter Hines of Lakewood; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dayshawn and John Baldwin of Cape Coral, Fla., and Melinda Hines of Chicago; a brother, Michael Hines of Chicago; two aunts, Ossie (Albert) Thomas and Marion Frances Major, both of Freehold; four uncles, Herman Hines and Lonnie Hines Jr. (Denise), both of Chicago, Ernest Major of Freehold and William (Bebe) Major of Somerset; devoted friend Tondra Burns of Toms River; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service was held at Old Ship of Zion Church, Manalapan, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Elaine Snyder

Mrs. Snyder, 63, of Freehold, died March 23 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Neptune, she was a lifelong resident of Freehold, where she was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church. For the past 23 years, she was employed at the John L. Montgomery Care Center, Freehold Township, and had most recently served as a secretary to the director of nurses. Mrs. Snyder was predeceased by her parents, Albene and Peter Urbelis. Surviving are her husband, John H. Snyder; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sherri Snyder of Freehold; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Susan and Angel Casado of Jackson, Ellen Sager of Freehold, Kathryn and Don Sammarco of Howell, and Carole and John Tremble of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister and brother-in-law, June Ann and Robert Millward of Maryville, Tenn.; and 17 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

Debra Deffler Ladnier

Mrs. Ladnier, 38, of South Toms River, formerly of Manalapan, died March 24 at home. Born in Weehawken, she had lived in Manalapan for most of her life before moving to South Toms River five years ago. An animal lover, she donated much of her time to caring for stray animals. Mrs. Ladnier was predeceased by her parents, Grace and Daniel Deffler. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; a daughter, Faith, at home; a brother, Brian Deffler of Old Bridge; a nephew, Daniel Deffler of Freehold; a goddaughter, Tiffany; and a close friend and her daughter, Denise and Alexandra Ipsaro of Point Pleasant. A graveside service was held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan, with Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, in charge of arrangements. Evelyn C. Schroeder

Mrs. Schroeder, 81, of The Villages, Howell, died March 26 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Manalapan for more than 20 years before moving to The Villages five years ago. She was co-owner of Harlyn Kennels in Manalapan and bred German shepherd champions. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. Surviving are her husband, Henry; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Marguerite Schroeder of Manalapan; two grandchildren, Douglas and Heather; and three great-granddaughters, Anna and Catherine Schroeder and Ruth Marie Daly. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
