Christopher G. Ryan

Mr. Ryan, 40, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, died May 2. Born in Red Bank, he relocated to Lincroft eight years ago. He was an accountant at Roscigno Industries, Iselin section of Woodbridge. He enjoyed time with his family, and gardening. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas H. Ryan; and a sister, Denise Ryan. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Melissa Duffy Ryan of Lincroft; a son, Timothy Ryan Kanski of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; a daughter, Rhiannon Ryan of Lincroft; his mother, Arlene Arkins Ryan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Diana Ryan Jr. of Toms River, and Richard and Charlene Ryan, and William and Sharon Ryan, all of Howell; two brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Mary Lazzaro

Mrs. Lazzaro, 66, of Millstone, died May 12 at home. Born in Italy, she was a homemaker, who in recent years spent time taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Perrineville section of Millstone. A nature lover, Mrs. Lazzaro also enjoyed gardening, traveling and going to the beach. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Lorenzo Lazzaro; three sons, Joseph, Domenic and Larry Lazzaro; two daughters, Rosa Marie Finis and Sandra Lazzaro, with whom she had lived; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, followed by entombment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia section of Woodbridge. Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3076 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville 08648.

Mark J. Manek Sr.

Mr. Manek, 52, of Manalapan, died May 3 at home. Born in Woodbridge, he had lived there before moving to Manalapan 45 years ago. He was employed by Contractors Surplus, Asbury Park, and had previously worked as a supervisor for Builder’s First Source, East Brunswick, for 24 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Englishtown. He was also a member of the Gordons Corner Fire Company, Manalapan, for the past 29 years, where he had served as chief in 1983 and from 1997-99, as well as deputy chief for several years. Surviving are his wife, Rose Marie Fiorentino Manek; two sons, Gordons Corner firefighters Mark J. Manek Jr. and Jonathan B. Manek, both of Manalapan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Heather M. and Lee E. Maksimik, first assistant chief of the Gordons Corner Fire Company, of Marlboro, and Christina L. Manek of Manalapan; a sister, Nanette Prusakowski of Manalapan; and three grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Fire company services were also held. Marie Rita Sullivan

Mrs. Sullivan, 100, of Freehold Township, died May 3 at home. Born in New York City, she had lived in Kenilworth before moving to Freehold Township 22 years ago and was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Freehold. Prior to retiring, she was a seamstress. Mrs. Sullivan was predeceased in 1943 by a daughter, Margaret Sullivan. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Edward Joseph and Maureen Sullivan of Hicksville, N.Y.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Grace Mary and William Wolf of Freehold Township, with whom she had lived, and Frances Marie and Gerald Stavisky of Greenwood Lake, N.Y.; a sister, Catherine Dean of Carmel, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
