Auditions Brick Township Recreation will hold auditions — by appointment only — for vocalists interested in singing the national anthem at SummerFest and other municipally sponsored events. Auditions will be held June 2 at 6 p.m. at the township’s activity center in Civic Plaza, 270 Chambers Bridge Road. The deadline to schedule an appointment is May 31. A panel of judges will evaluate vocalists on pitch, range, modulation and tonal memory as well as poise. The Monmouth County Park System will hold auditions for its summer musical production of “Pippin” June 4 and 5 at 6 p.m. at the Tatum Park Red Hill Activity Center, Red Hill Road, Middletown. The show will be staged at The Barn at Thompson Park, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft. Show dates are Thursdays through Sundays, July 28-Aug. 14. PerfectStorm Entertainment will hold auditions for a showcase to be held in Lakewood. Aspiring artists from all genres of music are welcome to audition for the showcase, which will be held before managers, producers, directors, record labels, publicists, talent agencies and other music industry executives. In addition to the exposure that this event will generate, PerfectStorm Entertainment will be recording a video documentary composed of interviews and insider information of selected acts. Also, a CD compilation of selected acts will be produced and distributed to major online music stores and one-stop vendors. Only serious acts should apply. Allegro!, a 30-member chorus under the direction of Marcello Velame, will hold auditions for the 2005-06 season June 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Manasquan United Methodist Church, South and Church streets, Manasquan. The Pennington Players will hold auditions for “Bye Bye Birdie” June 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and June 12 from noon to 4 p.m., on the West Windsor campus of Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road, in the Kelsey Theatre. Auditioners should prepare one complete song from musical theater and bring sheet music or recorded nonvocal accompaniment, as well as a photo and résumé. All roles are open for auditioners ages 15 and up; singing and/or dancing is required for most roles. Performance dates are Sept. 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25. The Heart of New Jersey Chorus, Sweet Adelines International, is seeking new members. There are openings in all voice parts.
