Body found in Millstone in June still not identified

This gray Schwinn bicycle was found on the Sun Sing Farm in Millstone near an irrigation pond where police found a decomposing body of an unidentified man.
The N.J. State Police are looking for help to identify the body of a dead man found this summer on a township farm.

On June 19, a fisherman found a decomposed body in an irrigation pond on the Sun Sing Farm on Perrineville/Battleground Road. According to State Police Detective Michael Rosica, the death is considered suspicious although police do not believe foul play was involved.

“We don’t know for sure,” Rosica said.

The victim was identified as a white or Hispanic male, between 30 and 40 years old . He had brown hair and was between 5 feet 4 and 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed between 120 and 140 pounds.

The Monmouth County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the man may have had a distinctive gap between his two front teeth. He was clad in bikini underwear at the time of his death.

Jeans, shoes and a Schwinn bike were found near the pond. The man may have gone there to swim, Rosica said. No one is supposed to be on the property where the body was found without the permission of the owner, the detective said, adding that the victim did not have permission.

Rosica said the state police would like to identify the body. He said if the body happens to be that of an illegal immigrant, no one who comes forward to identify the remains will be in trouble for doing so.

Anyone with information about the body may call the state police at (609) 584-5000, ext. 5286. Anyone who does not want to call the police with information may call the Examiner at (732) 358-5200, ext. 8237.
