Michael Beer of Manalapan, an exclusive agent with Allstate New Jersey Insurance Co. (Allstate New Jersey), was awarded a 2005 Agency Hands in the Community Award for his commitment to volunteering in the community through the Central New Jersey Detachment of the U.S. Marines’ Toys for Tots Foundation. With the award comes a $500 grant from The Allstate Foundation for the Toys for Tots effort, a holiday toy drive that Beer has supported for a number of years. Through a contingent of Allstate New Jersey agents called Mikes’ Bikes (most of the participants have the first name Mike), Beer has been collecting and distributing bicycles to needy Garden State children during the holidays. Beer was awarded the honor for his tireless efforts with the group. The Allstate Foundation, established in 1952, is an independent, charitable organization made possible by The Allstate Corp. and Allstate New Jersey Insurance Co.
