Spotlight Players will hold auditions for “Jake’s Women” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 3 and 7-9 p.m. Dec. 5, at the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan, Route 34 and Franklin Street. Needed are eight women ages 18-50 and one 12-year-old girl. The role of Jake has already been cast. Scripts for reading will be provided. Performances will be held in early February. Café Theatre will hold auditions for three productions: “Pinchpenny Phantom of the Opera,” “Aladdin and the Magic Lava Lamp,” and “The Hitman Murder Mysteries: Six Feet Over.” Singing ability and daytime availability are helpful. Center Players will hold auditions for its adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” for all ages, Dec. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Center Playhouse, 35 South St., Freehold. Needed are youths ages 11-16. Staging will be March 11-26, with two performances each Saturday and Sunday. Auditioners should prepare a short monologue (two paragraphs) from a play or book expressing sorrow, fear, seriousness or strength. Scripts will also be provided for reading. Playful Theatre Productions will hold auditions for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats” at Mercer County Community College Dec. 15, 7-9 p.m., and Dec. 17, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with callbacks Dec. 18. The audition room location will be posted at Kelsey Theatre on the college’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Auditioners will be asked to perform a contemporary musical theater song that illustrates range and acting ability, and should come prepared to dance. Sheet music is requested; an accompanist will be provided.

The Heart of New Jersey Chorus, Sweet Adelines International, is seeking new members. There are openings in all voice parts. The chorus recently returned from its annual competition and received the Most Improved Chorus award as well as ribbons for second place in the Small Chorus category.
