Scholarship program for Millstone grads

The Millstone Township PTO will again sponsor a scholarship program in 2006. The PTO will provide $2,000 and is seeking matching funds from individuals and local businesses. The final award totals and recipients will be based on this effort.

The scholarships are based on personal interviews, community service, and an essay on the topic "What challenges I have experienced in my life and how I have been able to overcome them."

Any high school senior who resides in Millstone, has graduated from Millstone Township Middle School, and has enrolled in a two- or four-year educational program (including community college or nursing, vocational or business program) is eligible to apply.

Applications are available in the main office of the Millstone Township Middle School and in the guidance offices of Allentown High School, The Peddie School, St. John Vianney High School, Notre Dame High School, and the Monmouth County career academies. The application deadline is April 7. Applicants will be notified of an interview date and time, and awards will be announced at the graduation ceremonies. For more information, call Sue Kudrick, PTO president, at (609) 259-6837, or Lisa Black, PTO scholarship chairperson, (609) 259-3948.
