Virginia Irvine

Mrs. Irvine, 91, of Howell, died April 19 at the home of her daughter. She was born in Freehold, where she lived until moving to Howell four years ago. Mrs. Irvine worked for the Board of Taxation of Monmouth County until her retirement in 1982. Prior to that, she was employed by her brother at Old Monmouth Candies, Freehold. She was a member of the Reformed Church of Freehold and a member of Molly Pitcher Chapter 198 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Irvine was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, in 1994; a son, Kenneth W. in 1951; a daughter, Gail Wood, in 2000; and a brother, Warren Prest, in 1999. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Russell Campbell of Howell; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Interment took place at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township, under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to the Reformed Church of Freehold, 67 W. Herbert Paul Parisi

Mr. Parisi, 77, of Staten Island, N.Y., a retired chief engineer who served in the Navy during the Korean War, died April 12 at Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze section of Staten Island. Born in the Port Richmond section of Staten Island, he graduated from McKee High School and studied engineering at the former Staten Island Community College. A licensed refrigeration and high-pressure steam engineer, he worked for close to 30 years as a chief engineer at several colleges in the City University system of New York, retiring in 1986. He served in the U.S. Navy as a petty officer second class from 1948 to 1952. Mr. Parisi was a member of the St. Bernardino's Association, an Italian social club. He was also a member of the Dongan Hills chapter of AARP and the New Brighton Senior Center. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Staten Island. Mr. Parisi is survived by his wife of 53 years, Edith; a son, Herbert Parisi Jr. of Marlboro; a daughter, Linda Vivenzio of Millstone; a brother, Edward Parisi of Old Bridge; a sister, Louise Dawson of Rhode Island; and four grandchildren.
