The Millstone Eagles Mitey Mites roared to their second victory Sunday beating the Iselin Giants, 24-6. After winning the toss, the Eagles chose to go on defense and held the Giants in their opening possession to no yards gained on a stingy defense, led by Michael Curry, Jordan Winston, Anthony Morrone, Pino Henry, Tristan Millett, and Richie Mullarkey. The Eagles' offense took possession and marched downfield with outstanding blocking by Bekim Nikovic, Tyler Newman, Michael Pullen, and Brandon Nitti. Runs by Tristan Millett and James McAfee were capped with an inside run by Dominic Borelli for the Eagles' first touchdown. Iselin fumbled the ensuing kick-off and Richie Mullarkey pounced on the ball, giving Millstone their second possession. James McAfee, Tristan Millett and a heads-up play by lineman Michael Pullen, recovering a fumble, set the stage for Michael Goldsman's run: a blast up the middle for Millstone's second score. The defense was equally up to the task as they took the field after the kick-off and held Iselin in check with a stellar defense led by Alex Alves, Michael Mulcahy, Tyler Patterson, Nick SanNicola, Charles Klehr, Dante Ricci and Elias Abilheira. The first play of Millstone's third possession resulted in the third touchdown of the game with a 30-yard run by Dominic Borelli, supported by the outstanding downfield blocking of Zach Turner and Tristan Millett. A swarming defense led by Hunter Gerling, Brett Masci, Mikey Brewer, Nick Griffiths, Kevin Bergen, Ryan Locke and Daniel Moyer continued to apply pressure to Iselin's offense, with Zach Turner sacking Iselin's quarterback. After taking the ball back in the second half, Millstone's offense once again was on the march with runs by Richie Mullarkey and James McAfee and blocks by Robby Hetrick, Brian Mishkin, and Mariah Adler, which ultimately wore down the defense. Michael Goldsman's inside run for his second touchdown ended the drive. Big hits by Hunter Gerling and Michael Curry, another QB sack by Anthony Morrone and fumble recoveries by Hunter Gerling and Michael Dacey ended any chance of an Iselin comeback.

The Millstone Eagles Pee Wee football team recorded a dominant win, 21-7, over the Iselin Giants, to even their record to 1-1. The win was a team effort both on the offensive side and defensive side of the ball. The offensive line (Mike McGinnis, Frank Juba, Mike John Adler, Robert Lentino, Josh Masci, Ryan Raslowsky, Anthony Bliss, Brandon Laday, George Mishkin, Richard Muraski and J.T. Curran) played a huge role in opening up holes for running backs - Norman Williams, Jackson Patterson, Sean Cummings, Kevin Knorr, Frank Juba, Nick Palladino, Stephan Pappas, and Michael John Adler. Leading the way in scoring was Sean Cummings with two touchdown catches (20 yards and 15 yards) off the powerful arm of Nick Palladino. Norman Williams (11 rushes for 82 yards, one for a nine-yard touchdown) and Jackson Patterson (11 rushes for 65 yards) along with a blast up the middle for an extra point, supplied the power for the Eagles on the ground. Mike McGinnis (extra point reception), Frank Juba (four rushes for 27 yards), Kevin Knorr and Michael John Adler each contributed on a day that compiled 215 total yards on offense.

On the defensive side of the ball everyone played extremely well, including dominant performances by Norman Williams (seven tackles), Frank Juba (five tackles), Josh Masci (three tackles), Michael John Adler (three tackles), Joe Budrewicz (three tackles), Jackson Patterson (three tackles), Kevin Knorr (three tackles and one INT), Stefan Pappas (two tackles), Sean Cummings (two tackles), Ryan Bocchieri (two tackles), Jake Swerdel (two tackles), Matt Wilkens (great coverage) and Zachary Hankinson. Norman Williams and Frank Juba applied pressure all day in Iselin's offensive backfield, which caused Iselin to miss hand-offs and create fumbles. In regard to the kicking game, Mike McGinnis performed exceptionally well.

The Allentown Central Redbirds Junior Pee Wee football team bounced back from a tough loss last Sunday with a decisive win against the Old Bridge Rams this week. The JPW Redbirds' first touchdown was set up by a 25-yard halfback option from Steve Adams to Kevin O'Connor. A three-yard touchdown jump pass from QB Kevin Singler to tight end Thomas Anzalone set the tone for the game. Steve Adams ran in the extra point to make the score 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. The second touchdown of the game came from Steve Adams on a 30-yard run. Fighting his way into the end zone, Trevor Sullivan ran in the extra point, making the score 14-0 at the end of the second quarter, with the Redbirds still ahead. Going into the third quarter, the Redbirds got a 30-yard reverse to Kevin O'Connor and he raced into the end zone for the final score, making it 20-0.

Running backs Steve Adams, Ed Rittenhouse, Kevin O'Connor and Trevor Sullivan kept the offensive drives going throughout the game. Some timely passes from QBs Nick Singler and Kevin O'Connor to Jason Bennett, Thomas Anzalone, Nick Boston and Steve Adams threw the defense off guard. None of the scores would have been possible if it had not been for the excellent play from the offensive line - Andrew Schrek, Thomas Anzalone, Jaron Drialo, Ryan Smith, Nick Boston, Thomas O'Shaughnessy, Brian Foley and Kyle Emley. Last but not least, Mike Peters played outstanding at center. On the defensive side of the ball, the Redbirds could not be fooled and stopped anything that was thrown their way. Strong play from the defensive line of Trevor Sullivan, Jason Bennett, Andrew Schrek, Anthony Murphy, Kyle Emley, Ryan Smith, Eric Sullivan and Mike Peters, who got his first tackle of the year. Corners Kevin O'Connor, Steve Adams, Jim Cadigan and Ryan Joye made the tackle or pushed the runner back inside where the linebacker made the play. Linebackers Jaron Drialo, Thomas O'Shaughnessy, Ed Rittenhouse and Thomas Anzalone were in on almost every tackle. At safety Brian Foley did not let anyone by. The kicking game of Anthony Murphy and Kyle Emley, with Kyle recovering his own kickoff, was outstanding.

The Allentown Redbirds Black flag football team took on the Old Bridge Rams, and it was a high-scoring contest. Touchdowns were scored by Matthew Veisz, Dean Kilyk (two), Brian Eider, Tage Firkin, Raymond Mills and Max Boyle. On defense, James Lazura, Cliff McGuigan and Jason Rider all came up big with ripping flags, as the line, which consists of Chris Foley, Garret Nieroda, Kyle Schmidt, and CJ Shaw, played a very tough defensive line. The Redbirds Red Team took on Sayreville in a tightly contested defensive battle. Touchdowns were scored by Michael Surrace and Andrew Klopman. Max Allen also had a nice 60-yard run to set up one of the touchdowns. Defensively Jacob Hill was all over the field and had many stops. Robbie Buecher, Harrison Hill, Ben Strovinsky and Lucas Freda also came up with big stops at critical points in the game. Both Redbird teams take on Morgan this Sunday at 9 a.m. at Byron Johnson Park
