New Jersey Photography Forum calls for entries
Submissions must be hand delivered to arts center on Oct. 28

Photographers are invited to submit two photographs to be considered for exhibition at the 12th annual Juried Photography Exhibit for the New Jersey Photography Forum.

The New Jersey Photography Forum is dedicated to furthering the interests of professional and serious photographers living or working in the New Jersey area. The group is now in its 12th year of development and has become the largest and most recognized group of fine-art exhibiting photographers in the state, according to a New Jersey Photography Forum press release.

The New Jersey Photography Forum's annual show will be on display Nov. 1-30 at the Watchung Arts Center, after which it will travel to the Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside for two months. The show will be curated by Nancy J. Ori, of Berkeley Heights, and Michael Creem, of Summit, according to the release.

The exhibit is open to any photographer able to hand-deliver his or her work to the Watchung Arts Center in Watchung between 1 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, the release said.

Entries are limited in size to no larger than a 30-inch-by-40-inch piece and should be professionally presented and wired for hanging. Any entry over 16 inches by 20 inches must be framed with Plexiglas. The cost of entry is $20, according to the release.

There will be three judges, according to the press release. They are Susan Hockaday, Bill Westheimer and David H. Wells.

Hockaday is an artist and photographer affiliated with the Soho20 Gallery in New York City. Westheimer is a fine-art and commercial photographer that has shown worldwide. His commercial work is used in book covers, corporate annual reports, editorial illustrations, advertising and music packaging, according to the release.

Wells is a freelance photographer based in Providence, R.I. He specializes in editorial, commercial and location photography. He is an award-winning, digitally capable photographer, producing images for local, national and international clientele, according to the release.

The public is invited to attend the opening reception from 1-4 p.m. on Nov. 12, at which time awards will be presented. Everyone will also have an opportunity to meet the artists, according to the release.

The forum holds monthly meetings at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit and encourage attendees to share expertise and advance their skills.

The meetings provide access to a wide variety of creative and technical information as well as access to many successful exhibiting fine-art photographers from the state, the release said.
