Millstone resident wins Monmouth U. award

| MILLSTONE - A township resident received a top honor last week from Monmouth University and took home a laptop computer.
Millstone's Jennifer Sanpietro, a junior at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, was announced as the winner of the university's CDW Computer/Business Award for the 2006/2007 academic year, according to a Monmouth University press release.
Sanpietro, who is majoring in business/ marketing while minoring in information technology, currently holds a 3.6 grade point average (GPA) at the school, the press release said.
The CDW Computer/ Business Award was established in 2005 to provide a Monmouth University student with a laptop computer to aid in his or her learning experience. The award is open to students entering their junior year in good academic standing and are enrolled in a course of study related to computers/business, the release said.
The winning student is selected by Monmouth University's financial aid office and university advancement offices, based on criteria established by CDW Corp. and the university.
A minimum GPA of 3.0 is a prerequisite for eligibility, the release said.
Sanpietro was presented with her laptop by Kris MacDermant, who graduated from Monmouth University in 1998 and is now the sales director of CDW's Eatontown branch; and Jeff Mills, vice president of university advancement, according to the release.
