For the Record An article titled "U.F. resident wants name removed from petition," which appeared in last week's edition of the Examiner, misidentified Micah Rasmussen as being a spokesperson for Communities United. Although Rasmussen is indeed a member of the group, he is not its spokesperson. The same article incorrectly stated that Rasmussen had spoken on the Communities United forum about U.F. resident Marc Covitz's withdrawal from the petition. According to Rasmussen, however, he posted comments regarding Covitz on another forum he started for the discussion of school issues. In an article in the Dec. 7 Examiner titled "UFRSD hires middle school project manager," Board of Education member Steven Murphy reported that the board has paid $161,500 to New Road Construction, that the balance of what had been budgeted for construction management services was $388,500 and that costs would exceed the construction management budget by more than $233,000. But according to Superintendent of Schools Robert Smith, the board paid $40,000 to New Road Construction, and the balance was $510,000, with an overall shortfall of $111,800. An article that appeared in last week's edition of the Examiner, "U.F. recognizes Diecidue for community service," misstated that outgoing Committeeman Sal Diecidue ran as an independent in last year's general election. However, Diecidue, a registered Republican, actually ran in that election as a write-in candidate. A story that appeared in the Jan. 11 edition of the Examiner titled " 'Lucky seven' takes on a whole new meaning" was missing part of its lead. The first sentence should have read "It became 'seventh heaven' last summer for the Horvaths."
