Millstone resident voted Super Lawyer for 2007

Peter Chamas
MILLSTONE - New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine has again chosen township resident Peter Chamas as a Super Lawyer.

Chamas has additionally been esteemed as one of the youngest attorneys to win this award for a third consecutive year. Only 5 percent of all attorneys in the state are named to the Super Lawyer list, according to a press release from the law office of Gill & Chamas.

Chosen from a poll conducted by Law & Politics magazine, 32,000 attorneys in the state were asked to submit nominations for top titles based on their peers' performance that they witnessed in action. Nominations were passed on to a blue ribbon panel of specialists in the field and then reviewed to ensure that the award winner was active and in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar Association, according to the press release.

Although recognized for his success at a young age, Chamas is no newcomer to the courtroom. He joined the now 15-attorney Woodbridge firm, Gill & Chamas, in 1990. Since then, he has received numerous multimillion-dollar jury verdicts and settlements for his clients, including a $2.6 million settlement in January, according to the press release.

Chamas is known for his unwavering compassion for his clients. This attribute combined with his legal knowledge has distinguished him as a top-tier personal injury attorney, according to the press release.

He is also involved in charitable works including the Holidays for the Homeless program, of which he sits on the board of trustees. The program began helping families in need in the Woodbridge area during the holiday season. Under Chamas' guidance, it now services families statewide and all year long, the press release said.

In addition, every holiday season, Chamas heads the office's toy and clothing drive for underprivileged children.

"The most gratifying part of life is knowing that you have helped someone in need," he said in the press release. "As an attorney, I get that opportunity every day."

Experienced in cases stemming from medical negligence, product liability, and automobile and construction accidents, Chamas' success comes from years of faithful commitment to his clients' best interest.

Born and raised in Old Bridge, Chamas resides in Millstone Township with his wife and daughter. His partner, Raymond A. Gill, was also named a New Jersey Super Lawyer for a third consecutive year.
