Millstone fire, emergency services respond to accident

The Millstone Township Fire Department and First Aid Squad use rescue tools to remove a man from a car involved in an accident at the intersection of Route 526 and Olde Noah Hunt Road on April 19.
MILLSTONE - Crews had to use rescue tools to remove a passenger from a car that was involved in an accident April 19.

Both the Millstone Township Fire Department and the Millstone Township First Aid Squad were dispatched to the intersection of Route 526 and Olde Noah Hunt Road on Thursday evening for a motor vehicle accident with a reported unconscious victim, according to a fire department press release.

Fire department units arrived to find a two-car accident with one driver still trapped inside one of the cars, the press release said.

Crews had to use rescue tools to remove the passenger-side door in order to gain access to the victim and remove him, the release said.

The victim was treated at the scene by the first aid squad before being airlifted to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries, the press release said.

The Millstone Township First Aid Squad also treated the driver of the second car on the scene for minor injuries, according to the release.

The accident is under investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
