Farm slates Family and Friends Day

ALLENTOWN - Bring family and friends to a day of summer fun that will benefit therapeutic riding programs for special-population riders in the area.

Riding High Farm in Allentown invites everyone to its 29th annual Family and Friends Day on June 10, which will take place from noon to 4 p.m.

Located at 145 Route 526, Riding High Farm is an adaptive recreational and therapeutic horseback-riding facility that has served special-needs children and adults in the community for more than 25 years.

"Our program encourages special riders to overcome their physical and cognitive challenges and recognize their potential through horseback riding," said Dennis Kahn, the executive director.

Proceeds from the annual Family and Friends Day help provide year-round services to program participants through the nonprofit Handicapped High Riders Club, according to Kahn.

The event is the club's biggest fundraiser and will be held rain or shine.

"A country barbecue plus pony rides, face painting, games, music, a moon bounce, raffles including a 50/50 drawing, and much, much more will be there to be enjoyed for all those in attendance," Kahn said.
