Motorcycle Cruise for Prevention, Aug. 15

This year's Motorcycle Cruise for Prevention, sponsored by Upper Freehold/Allentown Alliance to Prevent Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, will be held Aug. 15 from 5-9 p.m. at Byron Johnson Recreation Park on Ellisdale Road in Allentown.

Motorcycle owners can show off their bike and compete for prizes in the following categories: American Stock, Metric Stock, American Custom, Antique, Best in Show, and Mayor's Choice. Rat Chop Garage will judge and award trophies.

There will be food, music, door prizes, vendors, a 50/50 raffle and more. Admission is free and donations are appreciated.

The event benefits drug prevention programs in the school and community.

IBD support group meets at Monmouth Medical

An ongoing support group for children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and their parents meets the fourth Thursday of every other month at 7 p.m. at Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch.
