Seniors invited to share April 12, 1945 memories
Bridge Biography, a new company devoted to preserving family histories, is inviting all area seniors to the Empire Diner in Freehold on Aug. 22 at 9 a.m. to share their remembrances of the day Franklin Delano Roosevelt passed away in Warm Springs, Georgia. Tickets are free, however space is limited so attendees must RSVP before Aug. 10. In addition to preserving the recollections and stories for posterity, the inaugural program will be an enjoyable social event where local senior citizens can get together for a leisurely stroll down memory lane while enjoying a complimentary breakfast buffet. The passing of Roosevelt is among the most memorable events in the history of the United States. Having been president for more than 12 years and guiding America through the Great Depression, the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the majority of World War II, Roosevelt was a father figure to this country and news of his passing was met with an unprecedented national sadness. No one can forget where they were when they heard the news. Bridge Biography was recently founded by Manalapan native Matthew Litt, a young attorney who left the practice of law for a more gratifying career path. "After five years of practice in a Manhattan law firm, I was eager to apply my research and writing skills to a more meaningful pursuit," Litt said. Bridge Biography interviews family's matriarchs and patriarchs, then turns the raw question and answer sessions into a readable narrative biography bound in hardcover book form to be preserved for generations into the future. "In stark contrast to the adversarial world of litigation, I'm grateful to work with happy people all day," Litt said. "Seniors cherish the opportunity to tell their life stories, while their children and grandchildren treasure the preservation of their family's history." To R.S.V.P. for the Share Our Stories event or for more information contact Matthew Litt at (908) 770-7533 or visit www.BridgeBiography.com.
