Use government service as alternative to taxes
Pay no property tax. When a government job is open, you work it until your property tax obligation is met.

Since do-it-yourself government service requires no salary, no salary taxation, no health insurance, no pension, no sick days, no personal days, no paid holidays and no paid vacation, the cost of this government position is cut in half.

The median property tax bill in New Jersey is $6,000. For demonstration purposes, we will say a $60,000 government position is open. This dollar amount includes all the perks. Ten property owners with a $6,000 property tax bill can fill this position. Since there is a $30,000 savings because of the doit yourself government service, we can add five more property taxpayers with a bill of $6,000 into the mix.

This means that a 40-hour week is filled by 15 people, each giving 2.7 hours of their time to meet their property tax obligation in whatever way is beneficial for all concerned.

With government service as an alternative to tax dollars, no property owner will ever be in jeopardy of losing house and property due to an inability to pay tax dollars.

Now which are the candidates running for state, county and municipal office on this proposal?

Which candidates are willing to back this proposal as the cornerstone of property tax relief before the general election in November?
