Music classes for young children to be offered

Registration is now in progress for a new session of music and movement classes for young children that will be offered at the Allentown United Methodist Church, 23 Church St./Route 526, Allentown. The classes, which begin in late January, are: "Village" for babies up to 18 months, "Our Time" for children ages 1 ½ to 3 ½, and "Imagine That!" for preschoolers ages 3 to 4.

The classes encourage children to explore the world of music through listening, singing, moving, ear training, music history, playing instruments, practicing in ensemble, performing for one other, and enjoying musical games. These activities also help to promote language skills, symbolic thinking, coordination, and social interaction while they awaken the imagination.
