Dr. Edward Miller Dr. Miller, 88, of Millstone Township, died Nov. 12, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Passaic, he had lived in Millstone Township for the past 40 years and served as chairman of the Millstone Township Planning Board in the 1970s. Dr. Miller earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., in 1942 and graduated from the University of Zurich Medical School in Switzerland in 1953. He completed his internship at Glen Cove Hospital in New York in 1954. Dr. Miller retired in 1995 as the medical director at Organon Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that, he was the medical director for Ciba-Geigy, Summit. From 1962 to 1980 he was the director of clinical oncology for Hoffman LaRoche, Nutley, and from 1955 to 1962 he was an attending physician at the VA Hospital in New York City. He was a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Dr. Miller achieved the rank of lieutenant senior grade. He attended St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Perrineville section of Millstone. Surviving are his wife, C. Elaine Miller; three sons, Daniel Miller of Plainsboro, Erick Miller of Kennett Square, Pa., and Edward Miller of Newton, Mass.; a daughter, Heidi Deiner of Millstone Township; and nine grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. Interment took place at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of Hanover.
