Harlem Wizards ready to play ball in Allentown

The Upper Freehold/AllentownAlliance to Prevent Alcoholism and DrugAbuse will host its annual Harlem Wizards Basketball Fundraiser on April 5. Tickets are on sale at local businesses and in the Allentown and Upper Freehold municipal buildings.

The Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing the abuse and illegal use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs (especially among youth and families) by promoting healthy lifestyles through community involvement, educational programs, and family-oriented events.

The alliance held its first mother/son event "Bonding Through Bowling" on Feb. 24 at the Hamilton Lanes in Trenton.

The alliance sold 100 tickets to the event and had a 67-person waiting list. Participants bowled two games, ate pizza and went home with a small trophy commemorating the event. For more information or to place an ad in the journal for the game, call the alliance at (609) 758-7738 ext. 230 or visit www.ufadrugalliance.org.
