Millstone PTO/PTSA to offer $2,000 scholarships

The Millstone Township PTO will once again sponsor a scholarship program in 2008. The PTO is providing $2,000 while also seeking matching funds from individuals and local businesses. The final award totals and number of recipients will be based upon this effort.

The scholarships are based on personal interviews, community service and an essay on the topic "What challenges I have experienced in my life and how I have been able to overcome them."

Any high school senior who resides in Millstone, has graduated from Millstone Township Middle School and is enrolling in a two-year or four-year educational program (including community college, nursing, vocational or business program) is eligible to apply.

Applications are available through the guidance offices of Allentown High School in Allentown, The Peddie School in Hightstown, St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel, Christian Brothers Academy in the Lincroft section of Middletown, Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank and Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville. They can also be picked up at any of the five career academies in the Monmouth County Vocational School District, with locations in Freehold, Lincroft, Wall Township, Neptune Township and Sandy Hook. Applications should be returned to the respective guidance departments by April 1. Contact Margaret Greenberg, PTO Scholarship Chairperson, at Rock16rd@optonline.net.
