Recreation fees increase in Upper Freehold Twp.
New members appointed to Rec. Committee
BY JANE MEGGITT Staff Writer

UPPER FREEHOLD - Nonresidents who want to sign up for this year's summer camp or tennis lessons will have to pay an additional fee.

At the March 20 Township Committee meeting, resolutions for those programs were passed with different fee schedules for residents and nonresidents. The resolutions noted that the Township Committee would adopt an ordinance to set the new residency and fee regulations.

Resident youth tennis lessons will cost $92 for the spring program, while nonresidents must pay $107. An adult nine-hour tennis program will cost $105 for residents and $120 for those who do not live in the township. The eight-hour adult program will cost $98 for residents and $113 for nonresidents.

Upper Freehold residents will receive a discounted fee for the summer camp program. Residents will pay $225, while nonresidents pay $235. A second township camper enrolled in the program from the same home will pay $215, while a second camper from a nontownship home will pay $225.Athird camper from the same township home will pay $205, while the nonresident third camper from the same home will pay $215. There is also a $25 late fee per camper.

In related news, the township's Recreation Committee requested that the number of its citizen members be increased from three to five. The governing body unanimously approved a resolution increasing the membership. Members will serve staggered, three-year terms.

As a result, the terms of two of the three citizen members appointed at the township's January reorganization meeting were changed. Larry Williams and Stephen Murphy will now serve threeyear terms ending on Dec. 31, 2010. Mark Bramble will continue to serve a two-year term that ends Dec. 31, 2009.

The Township Committee appointed Doug Walsh to serve a one-year term expiring at the end of this year and former mayor William Miscoski to serve a twoyear term expiring at the end of 2009.
