Historian will discuss Lenni Lenape Indians

As part of its history at Heritage Park program, the Allentown-Upper Freehold Historical Society will host a lecture by historian and naturalist Brenda Davis.

More than 1,000 Lenni Lenape Indians once lived inMonmouth County with at least one large settlement and two smaller settlements abiding in Heritage Park. Brenda Davis will discuss the story of the Native Americans in Monmouth County.

The lecture will be held 1:30- 3:30 p.m. May 10 in Heritage Park, Allentown, at the Gordon Street entrance near the picnic benches. Bring a lawn chair. There is no entrance fee. Light refreshments will be served. For more information call Pat Roveda at (609) 259-4158.
