Freshmen victorious in AHS Battle of the Bands

Kyle Oberhauser (l-r), Johnny Costa and David Corniola won Allentown High School's annual Battle of the Bands contest while performing as Havana Harbor on May 2.
ALLENTOWN - Freshmen rock.

David Corniola, Kyle Oberhauser and Johnny Costa, performing as the band Havana Harbor, won Allentown High School's annual Battle of the Bands contest on May 2. The freshmen competed against several bands, including senior bands, to win.

Havana Harbor has a lot of experience performing in front of live audiences. The trio came to the battle fresh from an appearance at the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) convention at Harrah's Casino in Atlantic City. They regularly appear at Finnegans in Hightstown and have performed twice at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park.

The trio also plays numerous events with PACKMAN (Police and Community Kids Music Against Narcotics).

Havana Harbor encourages audience involvement at their shows and often invites guests on stage to sing when performing "I'm Not Okay." The band plays original songs along with a few cover songs.

Havana Harbor and PACKMAN are scheduled to perform at the Upper Freehold Middle School on May 20 for Graduates Who Are Making A Difference Day and at Savoy in Yardville on May 24.
