Local medical students awarded scholarships The Associate Auxiliaries of CentraState Medical Center recently awarded $500 scholarships to four individuals in the community who have chosen to pursue a career in the medical field. A review committee that examined each applicant's transcripts, application forms, essays and letters of recommendation chose the recipients, according to a press release fromValMac Phee, president of CentraState Associated Auxiliaries. Anthony Comuniello, a student atManalapan High School in Manalapan, Angelica Parmegiani, a student at Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, Kelly Predmore, a student at Allentown High School in Allentown, and William Largen, a Millstone Township resident attending Temple University College ofMedicine in Philadelphia, were named this year's recipients. CentraState'sAssociatedAuxiliaries led the public effort to create a hospital in western Monmouth County more than 40 years ago. Since the facility's opening in 1971, the auxiliaries have raised millions of dollars toward its growth and development. Money the auxiliaries invest in the annual scholarships have helped to ease the expenses of the pursuit of medical studies for approximately 43 recipients since 1999.
