Allentown High School homecoming
AHS bests Lower Cape May 28-13

The Upper Freehold Regional School District has a new king and queen. Laura Tetto and Vincent Rini were crowned queen and king during homecoming festivities at Allentown High School Oct. 18. The other homecoming contestants were Pace Nalbone, Seyera Bavarsky, Tim Collins, Lauren Salge, Zachary Moy, Nicole Desai, Alex Nebbia and Taylor Harvey.

Last year's homecoming king, Mike Gilch, crowned Rini, and Student Council President Alicia Valko crowned Tetto while Allentown High School Principal Christopher Nagy presented her with roses.

Each high school class presented a banner. Sophomores won first place with "ATowntational." Freshmen won second place with "Saved by the Redbird!" The seniors earned third place with "The Redbird Bunch," which focused on the television series "Brady Bunch," and the juniors took fourth place for "The Dukes of Allentown."

Nagy announced the overall results of Allentown High School's "Spirit Week": first place, the seniors with 2,300 points; second place, the juniors with 2,275 points; third place, the freshmen with 2,250 points, and fourth place, the sophomores with 2,225 points. He congratulated all of the winners.

The Allentown High School football team earned its second victory in the past 35 games during homecoming. Ross Schuerman scored on two 35-yard runs and added a touchdown pass to lead Allentown past Lower Cape May, 28-13.
